Trail News:

Trails are sometimes closed, for a variety of reasons.  Please stop by the General Store for updates and a copy of the newest trail map before you venture out.  Please respect all trail closure and/or Do Not Enter signage for your own safety.

Construction is almost completed on a connector trail to the nearby coal camp community of Slab Fork.  Residents and visitors will soon be able to access the trail system & town directly.  And stay in restored coal camp rentals like Coal Camp Getaways cottage complete with modern ammenities!

Permits & Gift Certificates:

New for 2012!  Out-of-State Family Permit Package.
Now, our out-of-state friends can enjoy discounts on multiple permits for the entire family!  Families love Burning Rock's centrally located trailhead with general store, showers/restrooms, campground, cabins and zip line.  And with trails of varying difficulty, everyone can enjoy riding with the family.

Burning Rock Gift Certificates are available year round and can be redeemed for Burning Rock Express zipline rides, lodging (camping to deluxe cabin rentals), trail permits, ATV rentals, guided tours & more!

Burning Rock Express Zip Line Winter Hours
Effective 11/29/11 the zipline will be closed for the winter months except for advance reservations for groups of 6 or more, with 24 hours notice.  Birthday parties, ski groups, ATV riders & anyone else looking for a wintertime thrill - you'll find it here!

"Was down there yesterday (June 26th, 2011) for the first time (from Pittsburgh, PA)…spent two days at Pinnacle/Indian Ridge, and the third at Burning Rock….I foresee an upcoming multi-day trip just to Burning Rock! What a beautiful place….what a class act….wonderfully nice staff….great store…..and most importantly…..AWESOME trails!!!!!!!!! My group (2 from Philly area, 1 from TN and myself) had such a GREAT time. I sure wish I lived closer, it would definitely be my “default” riding place. Maybe I should move……..Thanks for such an awesome experience. We will be back as soon as we can."

Welcome Mountaineer Trail Riders.

Mountaineer Trail Riders of all ages!

Southern West Virginia has a new off-road vehicle club and they’re looking for a few good men.  And women.  And children to help fill their ranks!  Mountaineer Trail Riders (MTR) club president Rob Atha, said he had the idea of forming a family-friendly club at Burning Rock Outdoor Adventure Park for some time.
